37 Frames is a destination wedding planning, photography and film studio based in Tokyo, creating extraordinary celebrations throughout Japan.
For more than two decades, Japan has been our home, our workplace and an endless source of inspiration. We know its remarkable places and people, its traditions and rhythms, and the intricacies that come with creating something here that doesn't necessarily follow the expected path.
Our work has also taken us around the world, creating and documenting weddings across countries, cultures and continents. That global experience has shaped the way we think about destination weddings, and why we have dedicated our careers to them.
Because a destination wedding is rarely only about the wedding day.
It is the journey people make to be there. The days spent together. The unexpected conversations, shared meals, discoveries and stories that become part of a family's history. These are the rare moments when the people you love are gathered in one place, creating memories that can travel through generations.
We understand the significance of that. And we never take it lightly.
The most memorable weddings rarely begin with a package.
They begin with people. With what matters to them. With the way they want to gather, celebrate, eat, laugh, honour family, embrace tradition, break with it, or create something entirely their own.
Japan can be an extraordinary place to do that. It is also a country where weddings, venues and hospitality often work within established ways of doing things. Neither needs to be compromised.
Our role is to understand both sides.
We translate much more than language. We translate ideas, expectations and cultures. We help Japanese venues and partners understand what our couples are hoping to create, and we help our couples understand the possibilities, nuances and realities of celebrating in Japan.
Sometimes that means knowing when to ask a different question. Sometimes it means finding a place nobody imagined could host a wedding. Sometimes it means taking an established Japanese tradition and finding a way for it to feel completely natural within a modern celebration.
And sometimes it simply means knowing when something should be left beautifully as it is.
Over the years, that approach has taken us from Tokyo rooftops and private gardens to ryokan, temples, islands, mountains and extraordinary corners of Japan that were never designed with destination weddings in mind.
Behind every celebration is the same philosophy: understand the place, understand the people, and create something that belongs to both.
Dee Green leads planning and production. Tracey Taylor leads photography and film. Together with our team and a network of relationships built over decades in Japan, we bring planning, photography and filmmaking together from the beginning, so the experience and the way it is remembered are never separate considerations.
The result isn't a version of someone else's wedding.
It is yours.
