Elopement at the Italian Embassy in Tokyo

We love elopements at the embassies in Tokyo.

We've both planned and photographed elopement weddings at the Italian Embassy in Tokyo, the Italian Embassy in Tokyo, the Finnish Embassy in Tokyo, the South African Embassy in Tokyo, the Australian Embassy in Tokyo, the Norwegian Embassy in Tokyo, the French Embassy in Tokyo, and probably since writing this we will have planned a whole lot more.

Japanese law requires all foreigners who marry in Japan to first prepare a sworn Affidavit of Competency to Marry, affirming they are legally free to marry, from their own country’s embassy or consulate in Japan.

You will need to fill out a Kon-in Todoke (request of registration of marriage) with 2 signatures from witnesses of any nationality who are over 20 years old.

There's often a lot involved and many paths to take. From making the elopement purely ceremonial, to making it a full legal weddings and all the paperwork that ensues.

We're here to help with it all and make it a seamless procedure so you can just think about each other, the journey you're embarking on together and the adventure of doing it all in Japan.
