Micro Wedding in Japan

These intimate celebrations were on the rise well before COVID-19 shut down large weddings.

Wedding vendors around the world have started to implement new ways to keep weddings alive for all those couples wanting to get married in Japan (or indeed everywhere), including offering innovative packages for much smaller-scaled nuptials.

Enter Micro Weddings, a smaller and shorter celebration that typically has a guest count of 20 or less, and a much more simplistic timeline. Micro Weddings in Japan are really what Japan excels at. Japan can showcase it's impeccable service at micro-weddings. Venues (outside of the large scale wedding company venues) are smaller and can hold 20 comfortably.

So here at 37 Frames we've always planned and photographed small and intimate wedding celebrations. Our large scale weddings here in Japan have postponed until 2021. However, there are so many couples whose ultimate goal is to be married now. And that's where the micro weddings come in.

37 Frames currently offer Micro Wedding and Elopement packages. They include an officiant, getting ready coverage, ceremony, formal portraits, and any other images the couple wants captured, and a small reception celebration at a beautiful restaurant. All within a 4-6 hour time frame. There's also the option for decorative florals and live-streaming your wedding celebration.

While a lot of couples really want to have their large wedding, the reality is that it isn’t possible right now.

But micro-weddings are just as celebratory on so many levels. Especially a destination celebration.

And lest you think micro weddings are a temporary solution to COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, we fully believe by looking at how micro-weddings were trending here in Japan before Covid-19, we think they will actually become a major way to celebrate weddings the future, too.
